Philosophy of the training

As we have seen earlier, the training in computer graphics techniques is at the forefront of ever-evolving technologies. The training widely resorts to experts from various sectors of compugraphic production, and puts the students in a situation of production as early as the first year in adequate labs: a machine per student, work on various platforms (Mac and PC) and on the most widespread operating systems (Windows, MacOs, Linux). The students have the opportunity to work in those labs until 10 p.m., which enables them to integrate what they learn each day without having to invest too early in a very expensive material.

To train professionals in such an evolving context as computer graphics requires constraints that may seem paradoxical: to train people who can directly adapt to a team and a production line, with all the specialization that it implies, and at the same provide them with the general conceptual basics that allow them to change orientation amidst the various sectors of computer graphics techniques. The HEAJ massively promotes the interdisciplinarity, of teams, that is why the transversality of knowledge and skills is very beneficial. The companies where the placements are done praise the professionalism of our students and the latter are perfectly capable of shifting from the world of computer-generated images to the world of edition or multimedia.

Indeed, after the students have completed their studies, they must have gained a whole bunch of skills that have to do with the main fields of computer graphics: layout, typographical rules, creation of a public image and of a professional porfolio, creation of a website on a graphic as well as technical level, 3D modelling and animation, creation of a 3D logo, creation of an interactive gallery in real time, etc. These varied and non-exhaustive skills enable the students of computer graphics who has obtained the degree to adapt to the various sectors of the graphics industry but also to adapt in an independent and innovating way to the continual and swift evolution of these sectors. Besides, the emphasis is laid in the training on the independence, the personal research and self-learning of the students, which enables them not only to do their final thesis through which they can display a mastery in a particular field, but also to become real protagonist in their professional future careers.
