A computer graphics Higher Education Institution

"The Ideal computer graphics Higher Education Institution is the goal we have been aiming at since 1999, at a moment when The Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard (HEAJ) decided to create the first Bachelor specialized in Computer Graphics Techniques in Belgium so as to fill in gap of higher training in computer graphics at that time. If the ideal computer graphics Higher Education Institution is not born yet (naturally it would be presumptuous to state that we have totally achieved the target), thanks to an ambitious and unique programme adopted and to a high-tech hardware put to the students' disposal, but also thanks to the skills and enthusiasm of the amazing team that surrounds me, the result achieved sufficiently convinced the about 850 students who come to school each year so as to make of the HEAJ-computer graphics department, if not the ideal computer graphics school, in any case the first European computer graphics Higher Education Institution (of university-level) …The firms were right, just like the students: those with a degree from our school find jobs in high-tech industries of the graphics communication, multimedia, computer generated images and video games in Belgium of course, but also in the rest of the world: from France to the United States, in Canada, Vietnam or England. Surf on this site and you will start to understand why if the HEAJ-computer graphics department, is not the ideal computer graphics higher education Institution, yet it is just very close to be so.."

Walter Benozzi, Head and founder of the HEAJ-Computer Graphics Department, Computer Graphics Higher Education Institution created by the HEAJ.

"A computer graphics higher education institution is a magical place full of encounters between graphic designers, artists, visual artists, photographers, technicians who combine their experiences for the students. Here, the result is just amazing."

Thierry Dambermont, teacher of bitmap digital creation in the HEAJ –Computer Graphics Department, Computer Graphics Higher Education Institution created by the HEAJ.

"To shape an ideal computer graphics Higher Education Institution", or the design of a teacher…

The ideal computer graphics Higher Education Institution would be one essential focuses on the students, and taking into account at the same time the needs of modern society, its technological progress, its art and philosophical trends. With a synergy from all its partners, coming from the professional world, teachers and those in charge of the placements of the students.

The ideal computer graphics Higher Education Institution should always improve its visibility in the community and encourage the involvement of the students and the teaching staff, mainly through continuing education, seminars, exhibitions…

The organization of the classes given, the placements in agencies, the recruiting of teachers and the tests of juries in collaboration with the professional world would give the school an official increase in value.

The teachers would be professionals still active, and would have educational and human quality.

The headship would be careful and would insure these innovative educational methods.

The place of setting at the heart of Europe, would be pertinent and favour many cultural exchanges.

Pipe dream? Sketch never finished?

No, this pilot project, this almost ideal school exists, close to you, in Namur, capital of Wallonia, at the heart of Europe: it is called HEAJ- computer graphics Department –Graphics techniques and computer graphics techniques Department of the HEAJ

Ivan Lammerant, teacher of graphics and drawing at HEAJ-comptuer graphics, a computer graphics Higher Education Institution created by the HEAJ
